Getting to Baltimore

Fly

We recommend flying into BWI which is only 20 minutes away from the city and easily accessible by taxi, Lyft, Uber, Light Rail, and MARC train.

Train

We love trains! Baltimore is accessible via the following Amtrak lines: Northeast Regional, Acela, Palmetto, Vermonter, Cardinal, Caroliner, Crescent, Silver Meteor, and Silver Star.

Drive

If you plan on driving, check with your hotel about parking. Most offer it for a fee. There are parking garages near the harbor (where the ceremony is located) and it is easy to find street parking around Peabody Heights Brewery (our reception location). We love our city, but please remember not to leave valuables in your car while in Baltimore.

Things to Do in Baltimore

We love our city! Here are some recommendations of places to enjoy while you stay here.

What to Do

Fells Point
This Baltimore neighborhood is right on the water and is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Baltimore. While you are there, check out Max’s Taphouse with one of the largest selections of draft beers in the U.S., The Horse You Road In On where Edgar Allen Poe was last seen alive, and take water taxi to Ft. McHenry and other points of interest around the harbor.

Hampden
This neighborhood is full of Baltimore’s quirky charm. Check out Atomic Books, where John Waters gets his fan mail, Celebrated Summer Records for vinyl pursuing, the Charmery for delicious ice cream, and Balto for incredible vintage finds.

American Visionary Art Museum
This is a must-see while you are in Baltimore! They feature works by self-taught, intuitive artists and are unlike any art museum you’ve ever seen.

National Aquarium
This is one of the best aquariums in the country! After you visit, make sure you explore the nearby Harbor Wetlands where you can see Baltimore’s wildlife like cownose rays and river otters.

Urban Pirates
Visit Robyn’s former workplace for an incredible cruise around the harbor full of pirate-y fun. They have family cruises geared towards kiddos during the day and adults-only booze cruises at night.

Baltimore Museum of Art
This museum is free and worth a visit while you are in the city. They have the largest holding of Henri Matisse in the world, along with an amazing contemporary collection.

No Land Beyond
This board game bar is a perfect place to try new games and enjoy an afternoon indoors.

Baltimore Improv Group & Highwire Improv
Robyn has performed with both of these theaters, so check them out if you want to see some grade-A comedy while you’re visiting.

Where to Eat

Clavel
This much-acclaimed Mexican restaurant is our favorite place to eat in Baltimore. They have incredible cocktails, insanely good tacos, and the best ceviche in the city.

Eikben
This asian-fusion restaurant is run by great people who make even better food. Try the Neighborhood Bird, a chicken sandwich on a bao bun or the Tofu Brah, a vegetarian delight!

True Chesapeake
If you want a nice seafood dinner this is the place. We recommend starting out with their bone marrow and blue crab dip and checking out their classic cocktail program with the best martinis in the city!

Bunny’s Buckets and Bubbles
Is there a more perfect combination than fried chicken and champagne? Bunny’s specializes in both and has the best brunch and best chicken sandwich in Baltimore.

La Cuchara
This restaurant focuses on wood-fired food from the Basque region. Plan on getting a lot of dishes to share because the entire menu is delicious!

Blue Pit BBQ
This is a great barbecue joint with an incredible whiskey selection.

Where to Get Crabs

Nick’s Fish House
This is our favorite place to get crabs. It is on the water and has a great menu for those who don’t want to indulge in crab crackin’.

LP Steamers
This casual seafood joint is frequently named the best place in Baltimore to pick crabs.

Captain James Seafood
The building is shaped like a boat. Need I say more?

Crabtowne USA
Eddie took Robyn on their first date here. It is part crab shack, part arcade, and entirely delightful. It is a little ways out of town but worth the visit.

Where to Get Crab Cakes

Koco’s Pub
Robyn and Eddie agree that this is the best place to get crab cakes. Their crab cake is legendary and full of sweet lump crab meat.

Gertrude’s
This restaurant is attached to the Baltimore Museum of Art and has a wonderful crab cake. They also have an incredible vegan crab cake!

Faidley’s Seafood
Located inside the historic Lexington Market, Faidley’s is a classic spot for crab cakes and seafood. Check out the rest of the market after and make sure to pick up a Berger cookie from Market Bakery.

Where to Drink

Dutch Courage
This classy gin bar has the best staff, beautiful decor, and the best cocktails in the city.

Meander
Meander Art Bar has incredible drinks and you can buy art supplies so you can craft while you sip!

W.C. Harlan’s
This is a great speakeasy that looks straight out of the Lost Generation.

Baltimore Spirits Company
We love their Epoch Rye and Shot Tower Gin. You can enjoy both at their cocktail gallery before buying a bottle to take home.
